Mike Richman elaborated on his new book, George Allen: A Football Life, on the show “In And Out Of Sports” hosted by D.C. radio personality Coach Butch McAdams. Butch led an excellent wide-ranging interview that included questions and comments on Allen’s keen eye for rookie and veteran talent, his relationships with the owners of the two NFL teams that he coached–the Los Angeles Rams and Washington Redskins–and the parallels between Allen’s role as defensive coordinator of the `63 Bears championship team to those of Buddy Ryan’s role as defensive coordinator of the `85 Bears Super Bowl-winning team.
