2017 VA FEATURE WRITING AWARD

In a 2017 VA communications contest, Mike Richman placed first in feature writing for his article on a study by the James A. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, to test a robotic exoskeleton for its ability to help paralyzed Veterans walk.

In 2003, the Pro Football Researchers Association honored Mike Richman with an award for his articles in the PFRA newsletter on six former Redskins players: Neal Olkewicz, Bones Taylor, Andy Farkas, Bill Dudley, Eddie LeBaron and Don Warren.

In 2003, the Pro Football Researchers Association honored Mike Richman with an award for his articles in the PFRA newsletter on six former Redskins players: Neal Olkewicz, Bones Taylor, Andy Farkas, Bill Dudley, Eddie LeBaron and Don Warren.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors, the U.S. government body that oversees the Voice of America and other U.S.-funded broadcast agencies, presented Mike Richman with a plaque in 2016 for his "outstanding dedication and commitment" to the BBG's Office of Public Affairs.

In 2013, the Alliance for Community Media, which represents more than 3,000 represents Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access organizations and community media centers in the country, presented Mike Richman with a "Hometown Media Award" for his production of the Redskins' TV show, "Burgundy & Gold Magazine."

In 2022, Mike Richman received a National Association of Government Communications (NAGC) award for voicing a public service announcement (PSA) on VA’s Million Veteran Program, a national research program looking at how genes, lifestyle, military experiences and exposures affect health and wellness in Veterans.
