In 2003, the Pro Football Researchers Association honored Mike Richman with an award for his articles in the PFRA newsletter on six former Redskins players: Neal Olkewicz, Bones Taylor, Andy Farkas, Bill Dudley, Eddie LeBaron and Don Warren.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors, the U.S. government body that oversees the Voice of America and other U.S.-funded broadcast agencies, presented Mike Richman with a plaque in 2016 for his "outstanding dedication and commitment" to the BBG's Office of Public Affairs.

The Broadcasting Board of Governors, the U.S. government body that oversees the Voice of America and the other U.S.-funded broadcast agencies, presented Mike Richman with a plaque in 2016 for his “outstanding dedication and commitment” to the BBG’s Office of Public Affairs.

In 2013, the Alliance for Community Media, which represents more than 3,000 represents Public, Educational and Governmental (PEG) access organizations and community media centers in the country, presented Mike Richman with a "Hometown Media Award" for his production of the Redskins' TV show, "Burgundy & Gold Magazine."
