In a 2019 VA communications contest, Mike Richman placed first in feature writing for his submission that included three articles: A VA researcher using religion as a therapy to help Veterans with PTSD; a VA researcher who is exploring trends and characteristics related to Veterans who collide with the criminal justice system; and how two volunteer programs are helping Veterans reintegrate into society and improve mental health.
